Chunky Salsa Fresca

Let’s Prepare

Wash and dry hands for at least 20 seconds.

Wash and dry produce.

Lay out tools and ingredients on a clean table.

Serves: 4 – 6

Ingredients

1 Sweet pepper

2 Green onions

1/2 cup (about 1 oz.) Cilantro leaves

1 Lime

1 pint Salad tomatoes

1/2 tsp. Smoked paprika

1/2 tsp. Onion powder

1/2 tsp. Garlic powder

1/2 tsp. Ground cumin

1/2 tsp. Kosher salt

Tortilla chips

Instructions

Step 1: Cut away and discard pepper stem. Slice pepper lengthwise. Tear away and discard seeds and membrane. Cut pepper crosswise into large pieces. 

Step 2: Using scissors, cut green onions into large pieces. Discard roots.

Step 3: Pick cilantro leaves from the stems. Discard stems.

Roll and press lime to make it easier to squeeze. Cut lime in half. Squeeze lime juice into a blender.

Step 4: Add tomatoes to blender. Pulse several times.

Step 5: Add sweet pepper, green onion, cilantro, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, and salt. Pulse until ingredients are combined and salsa is still slightly chunky.

Step 6: Serve salsa with tortilla chips, and enjoy!
