1-2-3 Vinaigrette with Lettuce

Let’s Prepare

Wash and dry hands for at least 20 seconds.

Wash and dry produce.

Lay out tools and ingredients on a clean table.

Serves: 4

Ingredients

3 Tbsp. Olive oil

2 Tbsp. Balsamic vinegar

1 Tbsp. Mustard

¼  tsp. Salt

¼  tsp. Pepper

1 Head lettuce (Romaine is great!)

Substitutions

Need to make a substitution? Try these yummy alternatives.

  • Try different types of mustard like honey or whole-grain mustard

  • Swap 2 Tbsp. Lime juice or 1 Tbsp. white wine vinegar or rice wine vinegar for lemon.

  • Growing other greens in your garden? Try kale or spinach!

Instructions

Step 1: Measure and add 3 Tbsp. Olive oil, 2 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar, and 1 Tbsp. mustard to the bowl.

Step 2: Measure and add ¼ tsp. salt and ¼ tsp. black pepper to the bowl.

Step 3: Stir or whisk all of the ingredients together until well combined.

Another idea: Combine all the ingredients into a shaker or jar with a lid. Shake vigorously until the dressing is combined. This is an emulsification!

Step 4: Tear the lettuce into bite-sized pieces.

Step 5: Arrange lettuce leaves on a small plate with the vinaigrette. Taste together!
