Small Bites Adventure Club + MyPlate: A Delicious Partnership!

At Small Bites Adventure Club, we love a good partnership. And, we are thrilled to be one of the newest MyPlate National Strategic partners! Our mission is to help children discover, eat and love fruits and vegetables through hands-on cooking activities in the classroom. And when these students head home, MyPlate is a great resource for parents and caregivers to continue supporting their healthy habits.

But what is MyPlate? 

Remember the Food Pyramid? MyPlate is a resource from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to replace the Food Pyramid. The symbol is a reminder of what a balanced diet can look like whether it is from a plate, bowl, or any other way!

The MyPlate visual can remind you to choose a variety of foods at each meal. It can also remind you that the benefits of healthy eating add up over time, bite by bite. 

Happy Birthday MyPlate! This easy visual cue for a balanced diet turns 13 this year.
