Kids learn knife skills, cooking, gardening and more!

  • “He loved growing the seed and watching it grow. He named him Sal and sings to him every morning!”

  • “She tried sugar snap peas for the first time!”

  • “I can’t believe my kid made this vinaigrette! It was so delicious and easy. Thank you, Small Bites!”

We love hearing from our customers! These are a few quotes from our customers that purchased Farm to Home Explorer kits. Each month, we feature a different theme and lots of fun activities. We began with the theme of “Seed Power”, and children explored, tasted and grew seeds. They even got their own personal seed journal. In February, the kit theme was “Shake it Up” and children the science of emulsification. The kit included vinaigrette ingredients, salad jar and fork.

Children are naturally interested food and cooking. Our kits are designed to showcase where food comes from, and give children an opportunity to practice foundational cooking skills. We know that children are more likely to eat fruits and veggies when they are exposed to them. These kits are designed to introduce children to fruits and veggies in a way that is fun, and with a focus on the farmers that grow these foods.

In March, the theme is “Cut it Up” and children are learning how to safely cut veggies with the Bridge and Claw cut. The kit includes a kid’s nylon knife, non-slip cutting board and play dough to practice with.

The kits feature engaging videos that introduce children to skills, farmers and tips on trying new foods.
